Cocoon
Video, 03:31

Cocoon is a work developed around the concept of labels. As a queer woman, I used to impose unnecessary labels on myself, which also came with a handful of expectations for me. This was the reason that I constantly changed myself to fit certain labels. This confusion is what led to my clarity. This is represented by me embodying my past labels and breaking through the layers of my identity.

I engage in topics such as identity, gender and sexuality. I enjoy using my body as a subject as it is a unifying theme among my exploration in art. I also like to experiment using my body as a material, hence often converging my works with performance art.
