Olivia Fones (b. 2001, Singapore) is a graduate from the IB Career-related programme at School of The Arts Singapore, and is currently undertaking her final year of the BA Fine Arts programme at LASALLE. She leans into her absurdist tendencies to protest against cultural norms, refusing to appeal to current notions of success and progress which subject one to terrifyingly conformist values. Instead, she favours the personal experiences of fun and nonsense which liberate, and only aims to achieve them aided by kitsch and childish aesthetics. Specialising in drawing, Olivia currently experiments with beaded sculpture and text as mediums alongside thought drawings. She aims to combat and question the desire to conform and be taken seriously.
